Carol took Brian to the doctor Monday afternoon to have his blood levels checked and they were in the "good" range. The bleeding has stopped and another emergency trip to Vanderbilt has been avoided.
The plastic surgeon's nurse called yesterday and gave us the phone number for a pediatric pain management group at Vanderbilt. This is the same group that initially prescribed Brian's medications back in November so we'll call them today to see when we can set an appointment.
The staff, teachers and nurses at Powell Middle School are working hard to keep Brian in school. His feeding and medication schedules interupted his class time and since he only goes for 3 hours per day he missed most of at least one class and sometimes parts of two classes. They suggested he start school during second period so that his feeding schedule coinsides with the school lunch period making it possible for him to go to three classes with minimal interuptions. We are very appreciative of their efforts to keep Brian in school!!
Carol and I are also very appreciative of our respective employers!! They understand and appreciate our situation. My managers have worked to re-schedule my hours so that I have more time off during the day to assist Brian and Carol's management and co-workers have unselfishly donated vacation hours to Carol so that she can be there for Brian during surgeries.
We have been truly blessed by the amount of prayers and support we have recieved from this amazing community.
Thank you for all you have done and continue to do!!!
