[size=medium]Pain, pain...go away.
Posted 23 hours ago

It seems every day he has a new complaint. His left ankle continues to hurt even though he didn't do anything to hurt it. He has complained of pain lately that he hasn't experienced before. A few days ago he said his gums felt like they were being mashed together constantly but it was more like a numbing pain. He said last night that the hearing in his right ear would come and go but it seems to be OK now.Both sides of his jaws seem to hurt him all of the time now but the strangest complaint was tonight. He said his tongue feels dry all of the time and no matter how much water he drinks it feels the same.

And its very, very difficult now to understand what he is saying. He called me at work today to ask how to get the internet working on his laptop and it was almost impossible to understand what was wrong. I finally understood what he was asking and was able to walk him through the steps to restore his laptop and get his internet connection back. Why, he would have a fit if he couldn't watch Lost!!

I am very thankful that he has such a dedicated friend. Garrett comes over about once a week and stays overnight and they wear out the PS3. He also has a couple of cousins that come over also. Justin will stay overnight once every week or so and Wednesday his cousin Isaiah spent the day with us and Brian had a great time.

Also on Wednesday, as I was talking to a fellow about my boat (it's for sale) I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to see Brian's home school teacher. She had made a special trip across town to bring Brian his yearbook (purchased by her husband, who was Brian's principle). Brian's face lit up and he was thrilled to get it.

Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. C....you guys made his day. He was very excited to see his picture in the yearbook.

Thanks for your continued thoughts and prayers,

Doug and Carol

Thanks for the update! I don't know if Brian uses oxygen or not to help him breathe, but Cliff and I find that our mouths and tongues get very dry (like wads of cotton filling them) and we have difficulty in getting the inside of our mouths moist again! Feels like a bunch of glue in there too, for the tongue and lips kind of stick together trying to moisterize them! Just an idea! Cliff uses water in his b-pap and I need moisture in the oxygen I breathe during the nights! He uses oxygen all the time! Still praying for all of you! Could be the tumors are making his mouth dry and I know they must be very uncomfortable for him even without any pain! I had fatty tumors on my back many years ago before removed and they were uncomfortable for me! :angel: God Bless! Betty
