Follow up appointment today...

...at The Plastic Surgery Center at Vanderbilt. I'm tired.
We hit the road about 7:15am EST for a 10:25am CST appointment. The weather was perfect for driving and we didn't have any delays so even with a couple of stops to hook Brian up to eat and give meds we still arrived about 30 minutes early.
Brian had a minor bleeding incident in the waiting room so they moved us up in the rotation to give Brian privacy in case he bled some more. When the doctor came in Brian bled a very small amount but the doc got a chance to see if he could locate the bleeder. He wasn't able to tell where it was coming from but didn't feel it was serious. I explained how we watched for signs of excessive bleeding and he laughed saying that we were becoming experts. We're working on it. Now if I just had someone to send a bill to for my services we'd be in high cotton!
The doctor was very pleased with Brian's progress and doesn't want to see him again until November.
We rolled into the driveway about 4pm EST time and I unloaded the van, got Brian settled in and crashed for about 3 hours. I was whipped. Carol woke me up later to the smell of fried chicken, buttered potatoes, apple sauce and rolls.
Brian's is now feeling much better with very few periods of severe pain. He said this morning that he feels like the reduction of the tumors has helped relieve him of a lot of the pain.
He still has his sense of humor too. 30 minutes ago he rolled into the room and asked me if I would hook him up to his feeding machine. He said he needed to be recharged! I wish you could have seen the smile on his face. It was an honest to goodness, real smile. Before the surgery, you could tell he was smiling mostly in his eyes. He is really feeling much, much better.
