Brian is still having problems sleeping at night. He woke me at 2am this morning needing pain meds and I can't get back to sleep.
The last week or so he has been up most of the nights falling asleep around 3 or 4 in the morning. He'll then get a restless sleep until around 10 or so, sometimes sleeping until noon.
Yesterday afternoon Brian's trach partially clogged and I was out of town on business. Carol called Amy to come over and stand by as she changed Brian's trach so there were a few elevated heart rates here for awhile.
He needs tumor reduction under his chin and on the bridge of his nose. We take him to his pediatrician tomorrow afternoon hoping he will give us a referral for the plastic surgeon.
Dad is doing better but he has had a couple of scares. An infection in his Hickman port caused him to run a fever and get a severe chill and high blood pressure. He was packed in ice and put back on IV antibiotics and they got it under control within hours!
Then they found a spot on a lung but it appears to be fading away so they think it was a spot of pneumonia. Apparently the antibiotics are doing their job. His white blood cell count is up to 200 and rising. The doctor said he could be released in a week or so when his counts are above 2000.
Thank you for keeping all of us in your prayers.
