Brian's Battle - Update (couple hours ago)

Pete in MI

Last nights note.
Posted 2 hours ago
"Dad, it's hard to hear out of my right ear, it feels like it popped but it won't unpop and it feels like I have an infection or there is water in it but that's impossible unless the blood went into my eartube and closed it. Dad, I love you and mom and if I die tonight please don't be sad, if you feel anything you should be happy that I'm in Heaven..."

Last night as Brian was getting ready to go to sleep he hollered and Carol and I to come in there quickly. Brian was holding a napkin with blood in it. He spit out blood for several minutes so we watched him until it appeared the bleeding had stopped. Overnight, Carol and I would go in and check on him with a flashlight to check for bleeding but he didn't start again. And this morning there wasn't any indication of bleeding but we'll watch him closely today.

The last couple of days have been better, Brian has had much more energy regardless of the pain. Friday was an exceptionally good day!!

We didn't have any luck finding a pain management team here so we are waiting to hear from Vanderbilt. I talked with them Thursday and the nurse called me back later in the afternoon to tell me she is working on finding someone there who can help. Hopefully we'll here from her next week.

As always, thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Doug and Carol

Breaks my heart!
May God heal him!

My heart and prayers go out to Brian and the whole family.

Still praying for Brian and only he and God know how sick he really is and I know God loves Brian and hears his and our prayers! Brian, may the Lord lessen your pain and cease the blood flow where it shouldn't be! Amen! Love ya all! God Bless! Betty

...after a rough night Brian slept most of the day, not waking up until 3 this afternoon. Carol said he only had minor bleeding and he has been in a good mood since I've been home. He will go to school tomorrow but there is a nurse there who keeps a close eye on him and will alert us if an emergency arises.

Thank you for your continued prayers.

Doug, Carol and Brian

...but not bad enough to rush him to ER. Carol is taking him to his pediatrician this afternoon to have his blood levels tested and then we'll decide what to do.

You have no idea how much I wish I was posting finds instead of prayer requests!!! Our whole family really does appreciate your prayers and we know God is in control.

God bless,

Doug
