Merry Christmas!!
Posted 1 hour ago
It's been two weeks since the last update...I'm getting behind.
The good news is there is nothing major to report. Brian has only had a few elevated pain episodes. He has had some minor bleeding from both his mouth and occasionally from his trach. One evening he awoke us at 1:40am spitting out a fair amount of blood. That was a few nights ago though.
I did get him out to go Christmas Shopping (shhhh...don't tell Carol) Friday evening. He wanted to get her something for Christmas and wanted to pick it our himself. We went to his favorite store and he was recognized by some of his readers of his article in The Knoxville Journal. It made his day when they said they read it every Friday! His smile was all the thanks they needed. The shopping trip did wear him out though and he fell asleep earlier than normal.
We are dreading the upcoming surgery but are very happy that it could wait until January. Thankfully, he'll be able to enjoy Christmas!
Please keep my dad in your prayers. His platelet count was very low Friday and they had to get him an infusion Friday evening. He goes to the doctor today for a follow-up visit.
We want to thank each and every one of you for all of the gifts we have received through out the year and also for the many, many prayers for Brian and our family!
Our wish for all of you is a very safe, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
