Getting cold in here. Whole area has a brown out. 2 counties. 20 degrees tonight so many people are going to have a cold night. Possible water pipes frozen etc... 60 degrees in here right now. Pray for power to be restored. We have partial power now, but can't run the furnace, etc... Power came on about 30 minutes after the post was made. Thanks for the prayers.

In Australia, many years ago, we used to have black-outs: definition viz no light or power whatsoever.

Is that what you call a brown-out?, or is it a reduction in power?

I hope soon you can get the heat going, sorry your freezing there, youll be in my prayers for a comfortable night Bro Mike!

is where the light go dim, and some things in the house that require more power shut down etc...
Our black outs are no power at all.

Thankfully our power continues here in the Walker area. If it did go out, I'm sure the complex has emergency generators being that this is a senior housing complex. We're thankful for the cushion. Hope your power is back up and running soon.

I'm surprise we haven't had a lot more issues with power. The snow is pretty heavy here in Grand Haven (MI) and there are many tree limbs down.
Mike, do you have access to a generator?

we are 60 miles as the crow flies from the lake. So we don't get as much lake affect as you guys. Some friends from our detecting club offered a generator. Power was back after a couple hours so we didn't need one.
