Buckle Help

Buckles of this common shape are very hard to date mainly cause they haven't changed and are still used now... my 1st impression of that one is maybe mid 1800s mainly based on the amount of corrosion. .. if it was found near saltwater or acidic soil my opinion would change... real question is what items are you finding in same area age wise?
