Buckles

Found these 2 buckles. Look like some kind of shoe buckles. Anyone have any idea if they are shoe buckles and the time period? Thanks.

I would say more like suspender adjusters ???

Didn’t think of that. You may be right. Found these in the same area I found a few large cents(1830 oldest) and a half cent(1825), so I’m thinking this may be same time period.

I found one that looks similar to that, it has a patent date on it March 7 1871. Very Cool!

The "adjuster" sounds right. I've found a few but with no fancy markings.
