Buffalos in Iowa........in January........:beers:

Hawkeye Jim

New member
Such a beautiful day, I had to go and try a hunt..........the ground was a little stiff in places and wasn't really too bad for the cold nights we've had, plus it's fricking January in Iowa :yikes:...........nickels were the main finds today at a site that's been hunted hard, with two Buffalo Nickels the highlight: a 1926 and 1935-S.

Well....there's a couple of Buff's that get to spend the remainder of winter indoors! Thanks for the pictures Jim!

Nice finds Jim.

I did the same today...a 45 minute hunt in the insane 58 degree IL weather which I posted on the Explorer forum.

I sniffed out 2 keepers with the E-Trac too...but didn't include them in my post.

Super hunt brother...that 35s is NICE.

I hope you can squeak in another hunt before the ground freezes.

Illinois weather was beautiful yesterday and those buffalos are nice. I made it to an old torn down farm house that had been in a bean field and found an 1880 indian hid among what seemed like tons of iron.

Beautiful Buffs Hawkeye,

Good luck in 2012 and don't forget to post.. all 2012.
