General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

I saw an ad by AIRFORCEMIKE who said he listed it for a friend in the forum. He used the words "in awesome shape".To me that means like new or almost like new.
When I got it-I was struck by what it looked like. Crappy coil and lower rod.
I know he will cry foul or what ever but I am the one out $350.The picture posted was of the golden control box and another of the serial number.
Now ordinarily I would ask for more pics of the coil etc etc.
I didn't because airforcemike has sold stuff like the SE Pro which looked like new and aslo has an outlaw for sale that is in mint shape so when he said this was in awesome shape I did not question it.

darton62@cox.net was the owner and he said he also had the box and manual and wanted a money order. After I sent him an email saying the money order was on the way he said he made a mistake and does not have the box..I think he suckered me using AIRFORCEMIKE'S name and good reputation to do it.
I think he knew he did not have the box and only posted a picture of the golden umax control box and not the lower rod and coil so he could get more money for his detector. I wouldn't pay more than $275 for that detector-in fact I would not buy it at all in that shape.

I asked for my money back and he replied that he used it in the woods a lot and whatever and all rods are like that from adjusting.Well why didn;t he show it in the pics and show the coil condition.
I posted pics in the tesoro forum under tesoro golden chatter and if you click on the pics they will enlarge and you can see the condition of the rod and coil.It also chatters in disc mode which should be silent..
I will try to get the cover off and put a new battery in to see if that helps. they are trying to help in the forum and I thank them for it.
I bought a lot of detectors but I will only buy from a forum dealer from now on.I'm just glad it was not a detector worth hundreds more. I know most of you are straight arrows like Richard@backwoods Detectors but I will not take a chance anymore.

After this post I would be afraid to send it back to him as he would have my money and detector and say there was nothing wrong with it so I will just post this and move on and chalk it up to buyer beware-no matter who they are.
 
I checked on his advertisement, and it doesn't mention he was selling it for a friend. Perhaps you read this on another forum ?

Selling for a second party is not allowed here. We try to keep up with it, but unless it's brought to our attention, we may never learn about it.

This person that you purchased the detector from "darton62@cox.net" has been banned from Finds for some time. His user name at the time was "terryinri".

Perhaps "AIRFORCEMIKE " is one in the same ????

Im not the same person as Terry I know terry from another forum and thought was a nice individual...all I did was post pics and go from what he said. Im still trying to resolve this issue with thim cause I was helping out another vet..its what I do and had NO intentions of doing anything wrong to Dave. The machines I have sold here and other forums are in perfect condition..as we find out his is not. I am in the wrong for helping out a stranger who I do know he is a friend in a forum but I guess he really is not reliable in many ways. All I did was post the pic and what he told me to post and I told each person to make sure you work it out on your ends here is the email...all I did was post the ad..thats it. This was very clear to both people I was just a middle man in this whole thing. I was just as much shocked as David.

This is one of the reasons we don't allow listings for a second party. The item has to belong to you. You in turn, should have read the statement at the top of the classified forum before making any post. Had I been aware of it, this post would have been deleted.
