Butterfly and black opal

zeekeys

New member
Went to the beach and swung the xlt for about 1 1/2 hours got 3 coins. I am thinking like TD it is just too heavy to swing. On the way home I stopped at a elementary school used the DeLeon and got 9 coins and a 10K black opal ring??? Don't know what the stone is? The butterfly is fake. Charm bracelet thingy.
The wheat's were in my pennies I cleaned yesterday. The 1919 is the oldest coin I have found so far. Thanks for looking and reading... Jer

Nice ring.

Good finds on the wheeties.

They are few and far between around here.

HH,

Nice finds Z!

I've heard those xltees are 2nd to none, but I sure do like my handy Tesoro machines...

They seem to do what they are supposed to.

Looks like you found a great spot worthy of more attention!

TD I have found about 15 since coming back to detecting. Most from the 40's 50's. When I showed my wife them she said now your starting to metal detect again.
I am thinking of selling the xlt and going to a V and using that on the beach. The xlt works just fine on the beach but I usually end up using the DeLeon. I just stay in the dry sand then. I was thinking of the Lobo ST but that is about 3 1/2 pounds. Not much lighter than my xlt. You are right it is heavy and just didn't have it in me to swing today. Maybe tomorrow I will feel different. Thanks for reading ...Jer

I have to stay light.

If my sholder flairs up, I'm terrable at it left handed.

Can't dig with a sore sholder anyway.

But uMaxes are some nice detectors.

HH,

Thanks for replies:
R M P T R I hate to say this but some of those pennies where dug last few outings of last fall. I am sure your are right about a good spot but I have no idea where I got them or when??? Only the Shadow or maybe Zorro knows?? I am feeling a little better today so will try the xlt again on the beach to see if I can swing it more than yesterday.
Thanks Beale that ring was another real bad sounding signals. I had not dug anything in a while so dug it expecting to find foil. I wonder how many really good targets I have pasted up thinking that signal isn't worth digging?? I get what I get and let it at that.
All I know is since I have started metal detecting my health has improved and I have a different out look on life. I retired and the first 5 years sat around on the computer and going to breakfast with the guys. Not doing much else. My wife said why don't you go metal detecting again and get out of here so I can get some work done. I have lost a number of pounds and geez can I open those tight jar lids now. I can walk up the stairs without throwing up now?? Got ja... again.. Only kidding.. Smoked Cigars for 40 years. When I show my wife some of the places I go to she says how in the heck do you get way down there? It must be 1/2 miles down and how can you walk on the sand for 4 or 5 hours and climb back up all in the same day?
Enough.. Thanks for reading and replies... Jer
