I found a flat button today with the backmark "Fine Quality". In between the Fine and Quality is a small eagle. Has anyone seen a backmark like this before, and what time frame was it used. I think there may be something on the front, but want to hold off on cleaning till I figure out what I may have <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Quite common backmark, dates vary anywhere from 1800-1848 or so. Usually no design on the button, civilian type. Don
