button/dog face on front

Found a button at an old home dates to 1857, and found an old button two pieced the front has a dog head the back has spurling good quality printed on it trying to date it but i cant find any info on the maker?heres a picture

the button i found is not ruff behind the dog its smooth and has what looks like a lab/bird dog head on it,sorry i cant get you a better pic right now as my computer went down and im waiting on my new one,I'll post a better pic as soon as i can thanks
