Hey all, Went back today to the old house that has produced 2 IH and some good silver and old old wheats. I dug every deep signal that sounded half way good and , of course, dug a lot of nails and other assorted junk. But did pull out, what I thought were three interesting pieces, at least intertsting enough to share. The button , is gilt and I hope it is some type of military button, but i know nothing of buttons, so if anyone recognizes it, let me know. The shank is still on. The other two pieces are a lead tommy gun and a whatsit. I thought fork, but this thing is HEAVY. Any ideas? HH

Well, from what i can tell, it is a"chicken" button used by the USA from 1875-1902.

General service button... is it marked scoville on the back? No doubt its late 1800s.

This is about as good as the back gets right now, Dew.
