My nephew found this button today while we were detecting a sidewalk strip. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Thanks for the help.

I do not think it is a civil war button, but it is an old one most likely pre civil war by quite a few years… I’m guessing 1830’s.

Look up Civil War coin button. I don't know if that is correct, but that was what we called them. Usually found around Civil War activity.
