Button I found yesterday

After soaking the button overnight, this is what was underneath the grime. Seems to be possibly a military button.
The back says Henry Allen Co N.Y.

Love those old buttons, if that button could talk, what a story it could tell. Nice find hope you can get an ID on it. Ron
 
Very impressive Dan. What state are you working? That may cast some light on its age and origin.
