I found this button a few days ago at an old German settlement near Chillicothe, Ohio. Can anyone help me I’d it, please?

Looks like a very old flat button ....I don’t know if the 6 sided star has any known significance..is anything on back side? Cool find..

Thanks! There’s nothing on the back except the hoop to sew it on. My nephew dug up a 1832 large cent about 20 feet away from me at the same time.
