I think it is rev war period button but not sure. Also the other button still needs some cleaning but it has gilding on it and looks like some numbers on it too. Nice going. Always like finding old coppers. All the KG III's that I've found have been contemporary counterfeit 1775's. The made a lot of these light weight pieces. Of course they made Machin's Mills pieces in NY with the same dates. If you can get a good look at the shield it's easy to tell the difference. On the Machin's pieces the lines in the shield are solid and on the British and counterfeit pieces the lines are outlined. Cool button (or cuff link). Looks like silver. Is it?
