buying used coils?

I bought a used 13in coil last night and then I got to thinking if that coil is 2 or 3 years old im gonna have to replace the batteries right off the bat. I think I might have made a mistake .Would I have been better off to buy a new on?

Depends on what you paid for the coil. My understanding is, the replacement cost of the battery is not very high. I guess it depends on the shipping costs also. Do you have to pay the return shipping costs? My guess would be, if you got the coil for a good price, replace the battery anyway. At least you won't be guessing on how long the battery will last. And then, go find a GOLD ring to cover the cost:smoke:

Seems like a pretty good price when it includes the lower rod. And if it still has warranty, better yet. I'd buy one at that price.

cool deal even if I have to replace the batteries I came out good.

Something else to consider,,, I can't remember exactly when the bigger coil came out--- but your coil may not be covered by the 5 year warranty.. Could be 2 years.

Depends. On when it was bought originally.

As far as your battery condition,, charge it up and hunt with it-- not in tx ppwer 3,,, see how long she'll go. If after 5 or 6 hours you have bars left,,, it is in pretty good shape IMO.

hey thanks bought it from one the sponsers he said 4 years on the warranty.
