C$ averaging function

Kidd

Member
Just got my new c$. Like everyone, I am learning to love it. One thing I am having trouble detecting is the averaging function. They look both the same to me. Numbers jump around just as quickly. I am not getting fouled up by the A1, A, A0, business. The machine is definitely in A1, or A0. Is this just a feature thats difficult to detect a difference, or is it just not working? Thanks for your input, Kidd

and tended to leave it off. Like you, I never saw that much if any when comparing a bouncer with it on or off. Maybe on a few it tightened up the number range a bit, but since having a well centered sweep over the target seemed to be more important in getting a good TID reading I always left it off. Whether it worked on some targets better than others I really can't say for sure. My philosophy on the C$ is to make use of the excellent "real time" response it gives. Why degrade that quick response with additional filtering/software analysis.

but if you use it, you have to make several short quick sweeps across the target from different angles to get a good average. Heck if I have to do all that I would just as soon dig and verify for myself what the target is if its iffy.

I never use it. My strategy is to dig anything positive. So the averaging function is not going to change anything for me.

and easy to get along with.

BFL?? then come on over the Findmall where you can get good info and see altered pics of the Stars of the hobby!

I agree with what's been said about the averaging function too! :D
