C$ Coil Cable

My cable on my C$ has a bad spot in it right up on top where it hooks into the unit itself. I am going to take it and cut about an inch of cord off and resotter it back to the connector.

I dont think an inch of cord removed will hurt anything, as an inch shouldnt change the resistance or ohms or anything enough to mess with the machine. Has anybody ever had to do this?


Does anybody make an after market cable or know where to get a replacement? I am the original owner of the unit but I never has a warranty card so i cant send it in and I would rather just fix something simple like this myself.

I was thinking the same, I didnt think it would hurt anything. As for the mod, I will check the Coinstrike page when I get home from work, I am thinking about running the cord through the shaft, I think thats the mod you are talking about.

Where can I get another shaft? Do I have to get one from Fisher?

Does anybody know where to get a new pole at? I would even take a used pole as long as its not all dented up. I have been thinking about another mod but I want another pole and rod to mess with.

At first the machine would turn on but it wouldnt let me go through any functions or even turn the light on. After playing with the wire at the end of the plug it would let me go through the functions and what not and everything seemed ok.

Now I can turn it on once again and it will let me go through all the functions as normal and everything seems good. But it keeps beeping and running through ID numbers non stop.

I am still thinking its got a bad spot in the plug since it didnt want to do anything at first and after moving the wire coming out of the plug (the plug where it screws to the box, not the coil)it would let me go through the menu screen and light and stuff again. So I am still thinking its a bad spot in the wire.

I should just cut the darn wire and resotter the plug and try it but for some reason I am second guessing myself. I'm not going to send it into Fisher for something I should be able to fix myself.

Any thoughts on my issue from you guys? Thanks in advance.

As long as it turns on and you can go through the menu screen, its reading your coil.

As long as you don't have any wires or solder touching inside the plug, what I am hearing you say now may just be electrical interference. Drop the sensitivity and threshold and see if it will stabilize out. Or better yet, get it away from the house.
