Calling all old farm hoe experts

Found this in the back yard this afternoon with 8" coil.
I think it might be a hoe but not sure.
Also, anyone know about how old it might be? This farm goes back to early 1800's.

looks like top edge portion of an old cast iron cooking pot that includes the handle. I think they use to hang them over a fire by chains.
