Chile - nice to see you back.....was wondering what happened? Great finds again and nice clean up too!! That copper disc may be a worn Large Cent (check the dimension on line) I think the 2-cent is smaller than a quarter. Could also possibly be either a British copper penny or Canadian large cent (they were made later than ours).

Very nice finds again MrChile. Too bad about that nice Barber Dime. It had to be EF or maybe even an AU Dime. You don't find many with full liberty and headband too boot. I think the Copper Disc was an old Trade Token at one time. WTG with the V-Nickels also. It sure seems you are starting to like hunting this older Lake due to the nice old coins you are finding and that is great. Good Luck and HH at your Lake sites and hope you find lots of Gold and ICE!

I have to agree with you James. I was getting a little tired of Mrchile posting Avon jewelry all the time...........:) Just kidding. I knew he would start finding the older coins sooner or later.

I'll get back at it this week end.......

Hey, does 12volt - 5 minutes on electrolysis hurt the silver coins??

That barber dime I found in this post - was that caused from electrolysis???

You need to find an Electrolysis Unit that you can adjust how much voltage you put thru an item. 9v Batteries is a bit much and they do damage coins if you leave them in for too long. I think if you had a powersource that you could regulate the current low, a person could do better cleaning the silver coins better. I think what happens with too high of current is that if starts to bake the crud onto or maybe even into the surface of the coin and that is why your Barber Dime turned out the way it did. Maybe someone else will post that has more knowledge than me on this issue and I hope so since I have the same problem with some of my finds that turn out like your dime did. Good Luck and HH this weekend and I am sure we will see another hoard of good finds from the almighty MrChile!:please::thumbup:
