Cam lock slipping on Exp II shaft

Today I tried to lock down my shaft but the cam lock wouldn't grab. The detector is old now and not under warranty,
Is there anyway I can make an adjustment to get this to grab?
 
Not the one under the control housing - the next one down that grabs the black graphite shaft.
 
There's a little metal clip in there that moves sometimes,if you set it right,superglue it and it will be like new.
