Camera Question

New member
I have a very nice and small Casio Ex-elm camera. It takes great regular pictures and movies and is so small that it fits in my top pocket and I don't even know it is there. The problem is that it takes lousy close up pictures of my finds to post on the Forum. The shots look good on the small screen, but when I see them on the computer, they are out of focus. I am looking for a camera that uses the SD Memory as I have several of them. Also one that automatically focuses on Macro as my eyesight is not that great anymore. Thanks in advance for your help.

It has a close up mode it switched to when objects get close.... or you can manually select it...

kodak z16 or z18 for video and pics.I think nebtrac uses this one very cool.On ebay around 100.00

I use a Kodak Zi6 Pocket Video Camera. It takes great videos and photos and has an excellent macro mode for close-ups. Another thing I like about it is the lens is internal and does not telescope out. I had two cameras where the lens would pop out when you turned the camera on. It didn't take long for them to stop working in the field because of all the dirt/dust from digging. This Kodak has outlasted both of them.

I am putting the camera in Macro and it looks good to me on the camera screen. It seems like it snaps into focus when I press the shutter part way down. When I see the picture on the computer all close-ups are blurry.

Kodak Zi6. I don't even take the mem. card out. Just push the button and out pops the jack and plugs right into the port on the laptop. So far its the only digital camera I have and use it for family stuff also. Doesn't pick up "soft" spoken words to well after about 15 feet though.

Use a macro mode if you have it. You can also buy a magnifying glass and hold it in front of the lens to help with the close ups.

I also had the same problem with my Casio Exilim even in close up mode. I started using a magnifying glass for close ups on my finds, but it has its shortcomings also. It will create shadows, or light spots from the Fresnel effect cast through the lens. I finally got frustrated with having to use a magnifying glass, and gave the camera to my wife. I bought a Sanyo Xacti Dual Camera. Movies are HD, stereo microphones, anti- shake feature, 10 megapixel camera, and fantastic macro, for around 100.00 bucks. Had it for almost a month now and still haven't been able to get out and film any hunts! BSC
