Can anyone vouch for a guy named SEBAS?

This guy is from the UK and has contacted me about buying my detector. His email is hidden but he gave it to me and it does not work. Just hoping this guy is not a fraud or something.

travis, I do not be going to you to defraud, I too am afraid the fraud.
I three years concern with searching for by means of XLT, but has here is solved to try Explorer. With XLT I dug coin na12 inches, with Explorer, as judged by review possible to get deeper. My most aging discovery 1150. Beside us very old and history places.
Excuse me that you have frightened, I understand, since fear too.

Paypal should be able to...If legit...That's the only way I'd do business with somebody overseas...I take it he wants to buy your detector???

Why don't you ask someone on this list to be a neutral 3rd party. SEBAS to send money to that person, and then, Travis 1460 send the detector. Perhaps one of the moderators or list owner would be willing to help. Just a thought.

Be smart and ignore it. Anyone from Europe can buy one there. As for Paypal, don't bet on them being too secure. I sent money to someone on an Ebay, Buy it Now item, I had paid with Paypal to the guy listed, but when I got the receipt from Paypal, it got sent to a Asian name and different email address. I contacted Ebay and it was deemed that the Ebay ID of some was hijacked and used to list 7 items. They closed them down of course. I gather he also found a way to reroute the Paypal name to his own Paypal account. I am still trying to get my money back after 35 days of numerous emails and phone calls to Paypal. $245. They should have attached the Asian guys Paypal right away and got my money back. But they monkeyed around and he took it out, and he was still on Paypal with a different email address 3 days later. If I get out of this with my money back, I won't use paypal for anything over $25. If I don't get it back, they can kiss another customer goodbye. I have over 595 Verified Paypal transactions in 6 years. Ebay over 1500 positives. You would think that should matter, but it doesn't.

He is trying to sell the detector & if paypal accepts his payment it's on them right??? I don't know for sure...Still I think it best to try & do business with N. America only...but that is still no guarantee of a secure transaction...I've been lucky so far & haven't had a bad experience, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time...TT

That is what I thought about Paypal, but they do not guarantee funds unless the person who you are buying from on Ebay has the Guaranteed to $1000 display on their item. If the item is a fake ad with the $1000 guarantee, it is not guaranteed. If you use Paypal outside of Ebay, there is no guarantee. I got stuck on a couple of things under $40 on Ebay, and got part of my money back, but $245 was a bit much to lose. Paypal has a very incompetent group of people working for them, they tell you it will be fixed and payment will be in your account and nothing happens. I was told this twice and also told by some of the phone people before that, that they would stay on it until it got fixed. All talk, nothing was done. My last call generated a restart of the whole process all over again. It could be they are stalling me until a deadline comes up. Be wary of Paypal.
