Can I use an other brands coil on my Tesoro?

good evening guys,
I picked up at a garage sale an old tecknetics 8500 from the early 80's. It does not work. My question is could I adapt the 4'' coil that it came with to fit my Silver micro max? or is it better to pick a new one from Tesoro?

Of course I don't know for sure, but I am thinking it is a waste of time. Now there are still a few of those old machines around, you may be able to sale the and maybe even the detector for parts.

There may be an exception or two that I'm not aware of, but for the most part a big NO.

If you check the battery contacts in that 8500 you will most likely find the problem with it.

I will also say that I don't think the coil will work on the Tesoro, it will however work on those OLDER Whites detectors.
