Hello all. I found this relic a little while ago, and been meaning to post it for identification. Can anyone help?
 
Hmmmmm what a cool looking relic. I cant help but think its part of a heater of some kind. Not to sure at al, hope you get more help. HH L8R

I reckon it might be some kind of lock, found it nearby an old 1800's post office site. It only measures around 11 or 12cm by 9 or 10cm. The thing I find odd is the ornate looking bit on top. I probably should have posted this on the What's it forum!:)
