you should have no problems as all the beaches there are public. But this question has been asked before and there is a whole lot of info just at your fingertips. Do a search on this forum keyword "cancun" and click on for the last year. Good info there. Good luck and have fun...just make sure you pull your batteries from your detector before you pack your bags both going and coming back...will save you a major headache. Kieth
