It was time for the 76th annual Cherry Festival in our home town and we had the grandkids for the weekend. I bought the kids and their Dad all day ride passes we spent the day having fun. There is a lot to do at this event and the kids had a blast,
This first photo is Anika (10), Zakary (6) and their Dad, Rob (358 months) getting ready to ride.

One fun thing that was new this year was the Water Hamster Balls. I asked if I could have one to keep them in all weekend, but the lady running the ride said I would need to let them have air every 45 minutes or so. I was not ready to make that kind of commitment.

That was a lot of fun, but they sure got sweaty! Both kids were old enough to ride the big rides this year, and they went for their first ride on the Ali Baba. Anika looks a little distressed.

Now this cute little girl is my newest grand girl making her first apperance on this forum. This is Elizabeth all dressed for fun and 17 month old.

I guess that is enough cute for you so on with the detecting. The carnival pulled out on Sunday so Anika, Zak, and I took the detectors and went down to the park for a couple hours. Anika is getting very good with her little Tesoro and we came home with a pile!

After counting it out, these are the results: 31 Tokens, 17 quarters, 26 dimes, 1 silver dime, 6 nickles, 95 pennies, 1 1944wheaty, and 18 rings. The rings were some kind of carnival prize and were all over. They may not be gold, but a ten year old girl sure does like them! We also found a pile of trash but that was just field training for the young hunters. Not a bad weekend!
