Carved civil war bullet?

Bill_S

Found this bullet at a site I have found other bullets at. Was using the Omega and 11" DD. It was probably 9 inches deep. This one looks like it has been carved into a point.

Very nice find Bill. It is probably a chess piece. Many soldiers on both sides enjoyed playing both chess and checkers. They would make a board that was easy to take with them and make the pieces out of bullets. I've found a few bullets carved, yours is the first I've seen carved like that. Definitely an excellent find and a keeper! Thanks for sharing.
