Chalk Up Another Gold For The Infinium :wiggle:

I have to work this weekend, but it is soooo hot around here, so I decided to hit a lake to cool off for a couple of hours. I used the Garrett AT3 to cherry pick the easy stuff, then used the Infinium for the deeper stuff. The Infinium got the rings and most of the loot. Just as I was leaving the water to call it a night, I got a nice clear strong high-low signal and just squeezed in a gold.

So these finds were IN the water...not just in the surrounding beach sand?
I'm guessing you met in the water since it's a water machine, right?
You seem to have a real knack for finding this good stuff. I don't imagine your telling anyone the spots your
working.:)-)

What percentage of your rings come out of the water? I'm still very disappointed in my gold finds in 2009 so far. Everything else has been great, though.

Hard to answer, but I do have a better chance of getting a ring out of the water over land rings. But I hunt a lot more land then water. On land....sports fields are my #1 ring producer. And my Scorpion has a real attraction to rings. It doesn't go near as deep as my GTI 2500, and that's a good thing for ring hunting. 90% of my rings are in the top 2-3 inches, so I don't want to waste my time digging deep targets. Contrary to what the rest of the detecting community believes, a machine that has good discrimination in the top 4-5 inches with not very much depth works better for me. My over all ring count would be down if I always used a deep machine. I can't imagine how many good surface targets would have been masked out because of just too many targets in the coil search matrix below the coil.
