Changing coils on a Cortes??

Garrett's ace 250 has preset ground balance.
Yes, but is it "preset" like the DeLe

Monte, I currently like Tesoro detectors a lot more than I do Whites detectors. They must be doing something right.:)

I have had my favorite White's models though the years, and those I own and use today, and the same applies to Tesoro models.

Both companies have "done something right", and at times I maybe question what they do. I have long relied on some models that didn't have visual Target ID, such as the Tesoro Bandido or Bandido II

Monte, that may true ,but but I have used a lot of Tesoro's
that had preset gb that ran smother and deeper then my
White's with automatic gb and did a better job in getting goody's out of the nails!

If swinging more weight and spending more money is being "more competitive within the industry", then Whites wins hands down. I really like the M6, but it was heavy and not correctly balanced. I opened up the box to see if it could be moved back further on the rod to get a better balance. The way it was designed it couldn't be moved, so I sold it. What got my goat was the fact that I saw stamped on the inside a name of another country. So much for taunting being made in the U.S.A.:)

If I was a Whites Dealer/Representative I would be spending my time trying to get them to design a lighter detector, not wasting my time in a Tesoro forum bashing Tesoro.

Be swinging extra weight around. For the life of me,i can not figure why other company's choose bells, whistles, big metal boxes, big heavy meters that drain your batteries.heavy rods and coils over,a light weight design with great performance.

Tabman: I don't believe that Monte was bashing Tesoro at all. I think he was just expressing his opinion and offering constructive criticism.

Monte still uses the Tesoro 's and he's qualified by experience and years of detecting to make these comments.
I use both of those brands of detectors and they have there places in the field.

on a Minelab Forum, I might post there. If on a Garrett Forum, I might post there, On a Fisher Forum, I might post there. Otherwise, I generally do NOT post on those forums because I don't use any of their detectors.

I do use some White's models, current and discontinued, because they work for me and have the features and performance I would like to have from a detector for the types of sites I use them at. I also post on the Teknetics Forum because I like and use the Omega and G2. And I hang around the Tesoro Forum thanks to the Bandido II

Monte, I THINK that maybe people give you a little guff because you only ever seem to praise detectors that you sell. Which is fine, I would promote my line as well if I was a dealer. However, it may also be misleading as nobody who sells a particular product are going to broadcast it's negatives. I personally enjoy reading your informative posts. I was just curious though, is there anything in the Whites/Tekentics line that you don't like/promote?
