Changing the Operating Freq. for best depth?

Trocar

New member
Does anyone know which of the operating Frequency's. is best for brass items or most depth on the T-2? I know it has a bunch of different freq. to use in case of other detectors or interference from power lines and such but does the higher freq. work best or the lower freq?
Thanks for any input!

Trocar.........The answer to your question can only be as general as your definition of the sort-after target's definition...brass ITEMS.

It won't matter what 'noise' setting of the small frequency adjustments you can make, for it is only about 500 Hz (?).

A brass door knocker has a different 'natural' frequency than a brass Yale key, but they are both 'items'. Size matters in such queries, as well as the actual metal.

Some folk try to make out that they have found items because they changed frequency by a few hundred cycles. What they didn't do, was to prove it.

Regarding actual ground penetration and 'getting to the target'.....The half a kilohertz change available will be of little consequence.

If you wish to be very theoretical, then the lowest frequency available would be the optimum for soil penetration.

Get a target and hit it with all steps of changed frequency. In the absence of interference, did you notice any gain? That's the only valid test......MattR.UK

3 kHz, 7.5 kHz and 18 .75 kHz.
This is a series of changes that make a difference. Like MattR said, the small change in the T2 only helps with interference.
