Not to rain on a sponsor's parade but ANY little charging battery will work with the charging cable. I use a 10 dollar one

silvercoinboy, IMO, well worth the money. I've been down the road of trying to jerry an external battery to my detectors. PIA . These R&B are made to fit, no muss no fuss, just clip on, plug in and you have all the power you need. I got tired of less than 6 hours run time with the backlight on and its been on my Manticore ever since I got it. Acts as a nice counterweight as well although with the 9 in. coil not really needed. Don't get me wrong, I'm a cheap SOB but I don't mind paying for quality and R&B has a good rep for quality products. Another nice feature, by the time you get home you're already topped off and just left to charge the pact, which doesn't take long. Happy with mine.

That's a plus then because the Manticore (and Elite) takes quite awhile to charge.----How long to charge the pact Mark?-------Del

Del, I usally average about 6 hrs a hunt, some longer, I run my backlight one setting below full and usually ATLC. To charge, between 3 & 4 hours, maybe a little longer sometimes.

Thanks Mark---That would cut the charge time down some.---The Manticore manual says run time 10 hrs. & charge time 7 hrs. (flat battery).----The thing is a person would have some peace of mind not wondering if you would be going to end up with a dead battery on a hunt.-----That did happen to me once with the Manticore & it had a full battery charge at the start of the hunt.---Thanks again.
