Great video...and great find. The part that made me chuckle was when you were scrapin'...and diggin'...and breathin' heavy...then I heard..."Oh Shi#"...."I think I scratched it" I don't mean that in a bad way...I sincerely mean I could hear the excitement in your voice. I was lucky enough to pop one out last year too...and at least you were able to speak. I couldn't do anything but sit there with my pie-hole stuck in "wide open" position:crylol: The rest of that day was a blur.
Congratulations on that awesome find. I bet you will never forget that hunt.

I put two little nicks on the rim, I think the scratch was already on the face. Its a little worn as yopu can see...LaDigger

Yea , It was a Sweet Surprise !, My wife and I cracked up laughing when we watched the video and saw that some mud had flew up and landed on my tooth, LOL . Look like Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber..HEE HEE.. Thanks to all who commented, If I don't respond to all, I still want you to know I appreciate the Comments, God Bless ...Peace, LaDigger

What an awesome find! I'd still be shaking. If I ever found a silver dollar, I'd probably be out there all night long. Way to go!

I bet I watched this video 10 times! I LOVE MY EXII too! Heck, I even showed the video to my buddies at work. They all LOVED it and want an explorer as well! Most of the coin hunting videos you see shows the coin or find laying on the top of the pile, but this one, THIS ONE, from the time you got the signal till you could see the BIG silver in the hole, was incredible! I do have a question, you mentioned during the video that the EX2 read 50 cents, were you using advanced digital with numbers or cursor? If it was digital, what were the numbers if you remember, or where was the cursor placement? Thanks again for an exciting video.

HH Duane

P.S. I was jealous at how easy you could bury your digger in the ground at this time of year. Ground is frozen and hard as a rock here!

Nice find LaDigger

I have'nt found one yet but someday....................I am a newcommer to the Minelab experiece having just bought an EX ll back in Dec. of last year. I have been using conduct sounds with iron mask at minus 10 or 11, and have been using ferrous sounds with an open screen, just curious, which do you like the most? Thanks............Hombre

I lean toward ferrous most of the time, but I do like cond. when there is not plenty of small rusty iron,,,Its like learning a new language when you switch brands, It takes some time to learn the slang and street talk, but when you do ,it all starts to make sense,.stick with it and you will be rewarded,,Thanks LaDigger

Excellent, LaDigger!

What I liked is the unmistakable, rock-solid, high-pitched, "warbley", "flutey" Explorer tone. I was thinking maybe 4-5 inches - but 8 inches?!

I've never got that kind of solid tone, at that depth - but then again, I've never detected a big ol' hunk of silver like that at ANY depth. :please:

Hope you find 100 more at that site!

How did you get the video if you didn't know the coin was there.....do you bring a camera man on every hunt to film every target or what? Or are you wearing some sort of helmet cam? Real nice find there and it looks like you put together a relatively sophisticated video with the scrolling text, etc. BTW, you should try to be a little more careful when digging those deep targets as I would have hated to have hit that big silver a couple times with my digger, though God knows I haven't always been too careful myself. I too found my firstsilver dollar this past summer, but it was Canadian not US and it was only a couple inches deep -- I thought it was a clad quarter and I nicked it as well

That's one great find. I'll you went back to that place and hit it really hard a few more times.... Also thanks for sharing your find with us with a great video.

Thanks for the compliment, I use windows movie maker, my 14 year old showed me how to use it last year, This is only about my 20th metal detecting video, have you ever tried to film your finds. BTW You should try, its fun.

Believe me, I hate to hit a silver coin just as much as anyone, that's why I was going deep, to get below the coin, do you really believe I knew it was going to be a silver dollar..LOL

A sincere Congratulations to you, so now you understand how I hit it,you should feel better now, Thanks for your concern,,God Bless and HH Peace...LaDigger
