Since becoming a SAHM, I have been soooo busy. We go on vacation the last week in May and I have been working to get the house, yard and garden in good shape before we go. Working and going to school for so long, has forced me to let things slide in a big way around here. Been deep cleaning one room per day in the house and am almost done! Whew. I've cleaned carpets, washed windows, curtains, walls, everything. It has been so nice having time to get things in order!!!! Our garden finally dryed up enough to plant and it is completely done except one row. Put out more than ever this year, as we may need the food to eat! Too bad y'all aren't close enough to share---I put out 30 hills of potatoes alone! HA!

My unemployment has been taken care of, am all set to start back to school this fall and next week I will be working on getting all of Loren's physicals and paperwork ready for her to start Kindergarten. I often wonder how people afford a large family. We are required to show proof of a physical, dental exam, hearing exam and eye exam. Expensive!!! Not to mention school clothes, shoes and supplies.

Travis has started a new schedule at work (started my first day of unemployment) and has been working 50 hours a week. The money sure does help and even though I haven't prayed for overtime for him, GOD surely has taken care of us in a big way. This schedule is going to continue for him for quite some time.

As y'll can see, I have been pretty busy and lovin' every minute of it. Even though being home has been a BIG adjustment and I don't LOVE everyday that I'm home, I do feel that for the first time in my life, I am doing exactly what GOD intended for me to do! For me, a lot of my self-worth was wrapped around being sucessfull in my job and that is a very worldy notion.....I needed to see that being the best mom and wife I can be is success in GOD's eyes and at the end of the day, that is what gives me peace! Plus, Travis is pretty darn happy too!

Hi Liz - Self satisfaction is just about the most important thing in one's life as to mental well being. Glad you are cruising right long, Steve in so az

Hi Liz, thanks for checkin in, as we miss your posts! I envy your deep cleaning the house and getting things more in order, as I used to do that when much younger but just not able to keep up or even get into doing it any more! The garden sounds great and that alone will keep you busy, as they take lots of work but the produce is worth it! Glad you could stay home with Loren and get her ready to start her school years which will pass faster than you can believe it! Time seems to fly by and what wasn't done...doesn't get done, for only what is done for our Lord Jesus will last with precious memories to fill our minds, hearts and souls! May God keep on blessing and I'm sure Travis likes his family home and is joying it! Amen! Ma Betty

Yes it sounds as if you have been very busy.
Large families - A wise person once told me that you will always afford your kids. I found it to be very true, and have told many people the same thing.
We have 4 kids, and have never had a lot of money, but the kids have always had their needs met and some wants at times too.
Here in MI they actually give free ear and eye tests before kids enter school. There are many places to get immunizations etc... for those who need help with that.
Your baby is headed to school this fall. They grow so fast.
Keep on keeping on.

God bless.

Mike

Ha, Rick! You nailed that on the head....Travis and Loren are BOTH my children  I try to keep em in line, but it's a rough job!!! How are you and the Mrs. doing?

Mike, you are so right. The couple years that Kali lived here we always had enough for our family of four--well, really five if we include her boyfriend! God does always provide. I would love for our family to grow by one, but GOD will have to provide financially as adoption is outragously expensive. The day to day care we can afford no problem, but coming up with that 40,000 hunk of cash to adopt if ROUGH. We managed once and I just don't think we could ever save up that much money again----unless GOD makes a way, of course.
