Checking for iron on a coin ( - 50 Conductive and Combine

This is often how I hunt. I come across a target in 50 Conductive (the mode I'm using mostly) and since I have a bit disc'd out at the bottom, if I want to see if there is iron in there (e.g. - if it pinpoints too wide), I just switch to my open Combine mode (by using the user programmable button set to last mode). You can of course open the 50 Conductive screen by pressing the detect button but iron will high tone. In combine it gives you a low tone - much more preferable.

On top of the above, you can also look for splatter on the screen, use pinpoint (to see how large the target is) and raise the coil to see if it hits high up. HOWEVER; be careful as coins next to iron can still be there!

Enjoy,
Albert
