chioce of coil use

Nock

New member
This summer I am going to search some local parks for rings and jewelry. I have the 6 inch and 9 inch high frequency coils, which of these 2 coils might be the better choice to hunt with? Thanks for any input

Trashy park use the small coil, But....I have 2 HF coils, the 6" and the Elliptical. I only used the 6" while waiting for ML to replace the Elliptical....That said, I use the Elliptical in parks and the beach all the time.

The 6-inch will separate better, as it is a DD coil. The 9-inch concentric will likely hunt deeper than the 6-inch, if the soil is moderately mineralized. However, if your local parks are as full of trash as those where I hunt, there is no doubt I'd be covering it first with the 6-inch DD. If I happen to hit some areas with little or no trash, I'd go back over it with the larger coil, hoping to find deeper targets. JMHO HH Randy.

I have a ton of snow and sub below zero temps for most of this winter I am looking forward to detecting weather,
Don
