Christmas Silver

I had that article published in Lost Treasure a while back and I brought the issue back home so family members could read it while we were together. My 9 yo niece got a hold of it and early this morning she dumped out her change, as my article suggested, and separated anything out of the ordinary. She decided she was going to start collecting magnetic Canadian coins and turned this one over to me because it wouldn't stick to her magnet. I told her it was just up my alley and asked that she keep her eyes open for any others.

Hoping your Christmas was joyous.

Chris

My new camera takes good close-ups like John's does. It will get much closer than this but that 420k limitation makes it difficult to post really great, well cropped, close-ups.

Congrats on the nice silver !!!

Nice silver :beers:

Great find.. I hope that soon ( later today maybe?)
Ill have some pics to share.. keep fingers and toes crossed

Happy Safe Fun Hunts

Your niece is sweet. That's a nice coin and I bet you are her favorite uncle. Future metal detectorist, if not one already.

She's been out with me hunting a few times. Her best find is sterling Captain's Bars (Lieutenant's Bars for my fellow Navy guys.) She thought they were foil and almost tossed them. We'll work on that.

Good luck and good hunting! It's great to introduce young people to metal detecting and you hope to find some good coins or rings. However, the time you get to spend together is priceless and can't be measured in dollars and cents.

nice find..:clapping:good job..:detecting:

That's great stuff, Chris. Having a partner like that is priceless!

I've got a 9 year old niece also who is an occasional hunting partner, and it's always a blast when she's along.

Last time we went to a tot lot she collected more $ than me, truth be told I kept a couple quarters to myself because it was more fun to watch her excitement in "outhunting" me.

I'm sure she won't need any help soon, she's already beating me in soccer without any help from me at all.

What kind of new camera did you get?

I got a new one also (not a Xmas present personal purchase). I got a Nikon d90 package deal. Since I take all kinds of photos for home, work, and pleasure and the little Sony digital was not doing me to kindly in the field I decided to get a top grade unit to replace a much older SLR film camera. The small digital can take good photos and I like it cause it can fit in my pocket when needed but it is so small that any little movement ruins a perfect pic.

Hope to be posting some new finds as soon as I get out again.
