Churpping sound

I am using a '97 model soverign.

I hear a loud churpping sound about once every minute and cannot stop it, any idea what can cause this, the battaries are charged so what can it be.

I dont know if Sovs have the same low batt' warning as Excals but that sure sounds like the same.-Warning chirp.
Maybe you battery is on the way out.
 
Troyer, I have a sovereign GT, and when I get that chirping sound it is telling me my batteries are low. Suggest you try some new alkaline batteries in your detector to see whether your rechargeable battery pack is bad, Good luck, GH, Don

From GT manual Kellyco GT Manual

Page 11 Paragraph 6.3

When the batteries are reaching the point at which they will no longer power the detector properly,
the Sovereign GT will emit a distinct sharp
