Cibola for Fresh Water Beaches?

I'd say why not? If you don't dunk it in the water, it should be OK. Personally.......I use a Tiger Shark for the water hunting as I tend to wade up the depth of my chest, my opinion only.

The 9X8 is no pleasure to swing under water:nono:
If you keep the control box dry, the coil can be dunked all day long.

Cibola in knee deep water finding nice rings is what got me started in water detecting. It was not long after going knee deep with the Cibola that I got my first fully submersible detector. Cibola will work fine, just don't get the box wet.
Cheers,
tvr

Cibola is ok for fresh water beaches, keep the disc as low as possible to get maximum depth, keep the control box dry.

I bought a Sand Shark last year, no worries about the control box now, next summer will try to use it for deeper water detecting. The downside is it is a bit heavier and picks up everything.
