Cibola on gold chains

CladDog

New member
Has anyone tested the responsiveness of the Cibola to gold chains? I'm curious how its stacks up against the Compadre.

Here is one I did comparing the Compadre, my F2 with an 8" coil and my Vaq with the 10X12 DD coil.
The Compadre beat them all, but I know the F2 and the sniper is very close to the Compadre, and I am sure if I put the standard coil on the Vaq the results would be better, if I mount a sniper coil on the Vaq the results would probably be great.

So you feel that the Vaquero mounted with a 5" coil would do as well as the Compadre?

Yes, would be interesting to see how the smaller coil would do on the Vaquero with this chain. We also have the new 8" coil Compadre coming very soon, any day actually if prior threads are correct. I wonder if it's hot on jewelry status will remain the same or if sensitivity, especially to these smaller gold targets, will be diminished with the larger coil? I would not be surprised if this is the case; it seems there is always a trade off for the larger coils and more coverage per swing at the cost of sensitivity to small gold and chains. Thanks for the video!

Not exactly as well, however without scientific testing I won't know for sure.
Seeing how they work in the field I just have a gut feeling that the Compadre would be slightly better.
The Vaq would be really, really close, though.
I just think the Compadre is just some sort of freak or alien from another world because of how easy it seems to find some of those tiny objects and especially chains.

Yes, REVIER, I'm convinced the Compadre was built using alien technology.

Habanero, I have the same question as you. Will that 8" coil have an adverse affect on the Compadre's sensitivty to small gold. I have a feeling it probably will. By how much, well, I'm sure there will be some tests posted on YouTube soon.

I can tell you that my 7" coil on my older Compadre can match the smaller coil any day of the week in sensitivity considering how it works and what it finds.
It also seems to go very deep on coin size objects, also, up to and a few past 8" in my good soil.
It was "tweaked" a little by Skiwhiz who turned the sense up to just about max before he sold it to me, however.

I have read about how most long time Tesoro users seemed to love that 8" donut coil in the past and how much of a favorite it seems to be so my hope is this new one will work like a dream.

I'm gonna wait and see but sure it will be a win/win situation with the larger coil on the Compadre. Can't wait to read how it does and dying to see the distributors and dealers get them in the hands of some of our members. Let the testing commence!!
