Civil War Breast Plate Initials

I have a breast plate the has 3 initial's carved on the back. Where can I find a database to search? I think the initials are M L F. Here is a picture. Thank you

Thank you very much. Now I have to find a way to bring out the initials. I'm sure the first letter is M. 75% sure of the last letter is F and only 25% the middle one is L might be an E

Very cool Save of the eagle breast plate. Best of luck to you in your research to locate the soldier and the owner of this plate. It would be great if you could ID the name of the soldier and locate a photo of him to display along with the plate. Either way, it is still a very personal piece of Saved History. Congrat's.

Nice find!
I agree on the first and last initials, but seem to be able to make out a possible P or B on the middle initial.
Hard to make out for sure.
