Civil War Button?

Can anyone identify this button? I think its a military button but I dont know for sure. I've looked and looked and cant find one like it.
It's 1 1/2" in diameter and was found in the yard of a house that dates from the 1860's

Doesn,t look like any civil war military button I've seen, could be a civilian button from the time period.
Look and see if there is anything on the back, and is it 1 piece or two, and let me know.

The back of the button is pretty rusty but I can tell it is a two piece button. It still has black paint I think on the front of the button making me think it was origionally all black.

Looks like a decorative garment button of some kind, probably from a coat or jacket.

Hey did you guys hear that bid POP? It was the sound of my bubble bursting <img src="/metal/html/cry.gif" border=0 width=40 height=15 alt=":cry"> ...But that's ok I went back tonight and came home with a 1921 wheat , a 1897 indian head and a 1888 indian head...no silver yet ,,,just a matter of time though <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt="">
