Found this in an area that CW items has been found. Seems to be brass plated or copper plated. Has an Eagle on front and a tab on on back. http://rs1160.pbsrc.com/albums/q488/kennyweathington/5E71D91D-79DF-4AE1-9094-543BE892C12A_zpsdfxanlh1.jpeg?w=480&h=480&fit=clip http://rs1160.pbsrc.com/albums/q488/kennyweathington/83C7AA37-CCFD-4D11-8011-01F7FFA45C34_zps3qvpgy92.jpeg?w=480&h=480&fit=clip http://rs1160.pbsrc.com/albums/q488/kennyweathington/85F3D5D8-B904-4530-ADCD-91DA0F0192FA_zpsfye7pc36.jpeg?w=480&h=480&fit=clip

Very nice looking piece. Is the back of this lead filled? This piece might pre date the War of Northern Aggression.

It is heavy for its size. The eagle looks some different than I seen during my research online.

My obsevation, but not an expert. I have dug many civil war items, any a lot of post wAr items. That looks like a later alloy with the way it is flaking. We would call that "pot metal" and I believe it is newer.
