Civil War percussion caps

JustinG.MDguy

New member
Last time I went digging, I found what appeared to be civil war percussion caps. There were reenactments at the site I was hunting, so they might be from that.

Would percussion caps survive ground conditions for 150+ years ?
Is there some way to tell the difference between genuine pieces and repros. ?

Sorry there's no picture, I still working on that...

Thanks!

Justin G.

Absolutely! We find them in campsites quite often. Find them fired and unfired.

Yes they do. I'm still finding them down here in LA too. cch
