Civil War Relic, Drawer Pull Handle or what?

WestTn

I found what looks like a little copper or brass jar near a CW camp and homesite. It has an open fluted neck, a bulbous end with a threaded pattern going around the circumference and it has a small hole at the bottom. I suppose it could be a drawer handle pull due to the hole at the bottom, but have never seen a drawer handle like this so I am wonder if it might be something else.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer and Happy Hunting!

That hole in the top was punched there or corroded right???
Small enough to be pull, or fence topper???

I think you are getting very close, either a lamp finial or possibly the top of a flagstaff that may have had possibly an eagle or other emblem mounted directly on top through the small hole.
Thanks for the help
