Civil war relics

7centsworth

Well-known member
I have started hunting a creek close to a union camp site and here is what I have found in about four hours of hunting. Almost all of the twenty two bullets were in the same hole under a riffle. I know they are not civil war but the rest are.One bullet is a pulled bullet that looks like the top was cut off after it was pulled. My favorite is the pencil made by a soldier, if only it could tell me what it has wrote. I gave one bullet to the owner, usually I give him one evreytime I hunt it.

Good going Travis and May God Bless you with many more nice bullets and relics! Amen! Ma Betty

3 ringers sure do sound off. In the movies they always show a guy hit by a 3 ringer and keeps on going. In real life you were done for I believe. Very nce pencil one.
Good going on the digs, more to come from there it sounds like, Steve in so az

Save some for me when I come down! :)

They do sound off really good. Nothing like hearing a high tone on my minelab when I am relic hunting.

Nice finds.....and I feel this is only the beginning of what is going to come out of this spot. I wish I lived in the South to experience some civil war finds. It must be exciting to pull this stuff out of the ground. Wish you the best. Happy civil war hunting!

see ya in a few hours!:detecting:

I have already dug a little over 70 bullets from this place and have not even scraped the barrel yet. I find at least ten every time I hunt it. I took Rick from Iowa and we had a blast. Can not wait to hunt with you again Rick . And come on down Mike I will save at leat one bullet for you:crazy:.

Yeah, I would love to come down again, I might have to wait to see if I bought the winning duck for the duck race! Had a blast hunting, I do think I will need to buy a different coil for coin shooting!

Great finds!!! I like how you give the land owner a bullet everytime, that is very nice!

Hi Hungarian, Are you new to the forum as I don't remeber you posting before, but if you aren't new then forgive me and if you are new, WELCOME, as it is good to have you with us or back with us! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

I give a bullet everytime and I also bought him a pocket knive. I have done that to two people that let me relic hunt. It lets them know you appreciate it and it helps you to get permission on other people.
